BGU SSA 310 Z and SSA 310 EZ Evolution

HIGH-CAPACITY Automatic Firewood processor for cutting and splitting logs up to 30cm (12") diameter !

Cut off operation is controlled by one man pushing the tilt-cradle table against the saw and cutting with very little effort any log up to 30cm diameter. At the same time logs that drop into the splitter unit automatically switch on the push-block feeding the logs against the wedge and splitting them in 2, 4 or 6 pieces depending on the type of wedge. Logs are loaded and fed to the blade on a tilting cradle-table designed with a suitable slope to provide a firm log support and meanwhile muscle the log effortless to the blade. While the operator manually advances the trunk to start a new cutting cycle, the log dropping into the splitter trough automatically starts the push-block (hydraulic ram) that feeds the log out through the wedge.
Sawing/cutting and splitting operations are controlled by two separate, very fast, automatic systems so that one man can easily handle up to six cords per hour (depending on log size and diameter) with no need for further ancillary tools and equipment.

Comfort:

Multifunctional lever control
All main functions are controlled by one single, ergonomic, manual control lever to perform all-in-one operation of the machine including: cutting of the log, starting of the splitter unit, automatic return stroke of the ram and reactivation of the infeed unit after completion of the splitting cycle. The saw unit is hydraulically operated and equipped with a 400 mm long sword controlled by the operator down through the log. The same manual control lever is used by the operator to adjust the pressure of the chainsaw on the log and therefore optimize the cutting speed based on the size of the log to avoid all risks of overloading/overheating the saw unit.

Like older models, this new BGU generation of wood processors SSA 310 is equipped with three-point hitch for direct power take off from the tractor by means of a cardan shaft. Alternatively, it is possible to have a combination version of the same machine equipped with both 3-point hitch and a powerful 7,5 kW electric motor. A special set of infeed rollers speeds production and simplifies loading operations allowing easy advancing of any log up to 4m/13' all the way against an adjustable stop designed to accurately position and cut the log in any length between 20 and 50 cm (8-20").
